Photograph with context
Build a wide, middle and detail sequence; manage glare; record location; never improvise a scale on the monument.

Use the museum label
Capture object title, material, date, provenance and accession number without merging them into one uncertain claim.
Preserve the number
An accession or inventory number is often the best route from a short gallery label to a fuller collection record.
Write uncertainty
Use “possibly,” “labelled as” and “not visible in this frame” when the evidence does not support certainty.
